Some of the most obvious symptoms of cocaine use are visible to most who are normally around the user. The family suffers along with the user, in that they can’t seem to be able to help them. As much as they try the user seems oblivious to everyone else in their chase to find that high which can not match the original high.
Symptoms which are noticeable include:
- fast speech
- extremely talkative
- super alertness
- sleeplessness
- lack of fatigue
- dilated pupils
- anxiety
- irritably
- restlessness
- unable to meet responsibilities
Physical symptoms of cocaine use:
- runny nose
- bloody nose
- read and swollen nose
- dilated pupils
- wild eyed
- high body temperature
- high blood pressure
- seizures
When the cocaine user tries that first hit the body is not used to the sensation. This leads to the body building up an immunity (like any other drug it gets used to it) and then the uses after that usually never reach the initial high. This is why the user keeps doing more and more. Scientific studies have shown that the powerful neurological reinforcing property of cocaine is responsible for an individual’s continual use. This is why the user will continue despite the harmful physical, mental and social consequences.
Scientific animal studies have shown that animals will work very hard at working a bar, even thousands of times to get an injection of cocaine. They would even choose the cocaine over food and water. We see often that people respond in the same way. They will go to any length to get that hit of cocaine even if it hurts their family relationship, their job relationship and future health.
