Once I take you in, the melody is unparalleled. My visions are as clear as the azure sky. Once you serenely drift away, I need to chase after you; I’ll risk everything just to have you once again.”

This is the addiction nightmare suffered by a person that is in severe dependence to cocaine use. The drug becomes a part of their system up to the point that they cannot live without it. They crave for more and more everyday until they are satiated. They tend to feel the rush offered by cocaine that stimulates their brain and feel unbelievably energetic. A different ecstasy creeps through their nerves until it slowly dies away and the user just wants more and more. If they cannot administer the drug once they feel the need, a sudden change of emotions roll over, sleepiness, elevated appetite and appalling depression. Once they have the drug running through their veins again, the depression and fatigue bursts into something high again. The change of emotions can transform 360 degrees until the same mood swings happen again.

Animals that had learned to inject themselves with cocaine by pressing a lever, will press the lever for as often as 6000 times just to obtain a single dose. When euphoric, a cocaine user will feel really good and once the effect of the dose depletes, he starts to crave for another dose. That is, his mood can set off skyrocketing and the other time, he can feel extremely low and drained. The compulsive cocaine user will be caught in the same spiraling nightmare and the same thing happens over and over again

This addiction is a nightmare, a terrifying experience not just for the person who is dependent on the drug but also to the people that surround him, and the people that love him. There is one solution to this nightmare, and that is, to stop the habit. The price after the cocaine withdrawal is incomparable; there is nothing like a peace of mind and a peaceful slumber. Among others, the family and friends play a big role in the complete transformation of a person. They need to continuously assure the person that he can pass the first stage of renewal. The person needs to feel the comfort and support from the people around him. And above all, the person which is severely dependent on cocaine must be more than willing to let go of the habit and must be eager to rehabilitate himself so that they can start anew.
